Welcome to Don Ricardo's Bar & Grill

General Info

If you’re looking for a relaxed spot to enjoy authentic Mexican flavors in Arcadia, Don Ricardo's Bar & Grill is a place that immediately feels welcoming. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere struck a nice balance between casual dining and a lively neighborhood vibe, making it easy to settle in whether you’re visiting with friends or bringing family along.

The menu offers a variety of classic Mexican dishes, but a few items really stand out. The Chimichanga Burrito is easily one of the highlights-crispy on the outside and packed with flavorful fillings that feel hearty without being overwhelming. Meanwhile, the Lunch Enchilada option is perfect if you’re stopping by midday and want something satisfying yet not too heavy. I also noticed that the Chicken Tenders and Fries are a hit, especially for younger diners, which makes sense given how family-friendly the place is.

Speaking of families, this restaurant clearly caters to a wide range of guests. It’s good for kids, with high chairs available, and the overall setup makes group dining feel easy and comfortable. At the same time, small details like reliable Wi-Fi and the option to pay with debit cards make the experience convenient for everyday visits. Whether you’re planning a quick lunch or a longer dine-in meal, the service style feels flexible and accommodating.

What stood out most during my visit was how consistent everything felt. The food arrived promptly, the portions were generous, and the staff maintained a friendly, attentive presence without being intrusive. It’s the kind of place where you can come back multiple times and still feel confident in what you’ll get.

In terms of location, being on East Foothill Boulevard makes it easy to access, whether you’re a local or just passing through Arcadia. It’s the kind of neighborhood restaurant that blends into your routine-you might come for a specific dish like the chimichanga, but you end up returning for the overall experience.

From the menu variety to the approachable service and family-friendly setup, Don Ricardo’s Bar & Grill delivers a dependable dining experience that feels both casual and satisfying.

What customers say?

“ We stopped in on a whim when we were visiting for the TOR. Very good food and great service. Mexican like weve never had it. The beef taco was outstanding with shredded beef, the chimichanga was the rice of a small child and filled with everything delicious. ”

“ We read the reviews and noticed the weird contrast of Five- and Four-Stars, versus One-Stars. Even though one can sift through many One-Stars as petty, some registered as legit so we were cautious. Anyone can have a bad day. The food is perfectly fine, old-school Mexican. I have high blood pressure so I can TASTE too much salt and that wasn't a problem with what I ate. The service was perfectly fine, as well. We were greeted AT the door, seated immediately on a Sunday at 12.30, and service was friendly, conscientious and prompt. Absolutely no delays. The ambience is, again, old-school Mexican restaurant. The total of our bill was $211 (including 20%/$35 tip) for four of us with one appetizer, three desserts and three alcoholic beverages. The ONLY down points I had were, first, that I'd've preferred to've sat on the Patio but it was REALLY loud out there. Inside was perfectly fine though and it wasn't packed. Second, the on-line reservation system through Yelp requires the addition of Yelp's invasive app, which wasn't going to happen and wasn't the restaurant's fault ”

“ After watching the sound of freedom with some friends, we decided to go have some lunch the only place open on the Fourth of July for Mexican food was Don Ricardo‘s what a blast of the past. I remember when they were in the mall their huevos rancheros were my absolute favorite, considering they don’t serve lunch after 2 PM. I was unable to order that but they did have taco Tuesday so we got shredded beef Syria Shredded chicken, crispy and soft tacos. We also got some chicken wings. The bean dip and the salsa were absolutely amazing and the chips we had the best service from Chris. We got some margaritas and a Jamaica margarita had a nice little tang to it what a unexpected little treat, the service is great the location was clean and like I said we had the best service from Chris 10 out of 10 would totally recommend. ”

“ Back when I worked in the neighborhood, this was our 'Go-To" for an after work dinner and "beverage". I have been out of the area for years, and brought my dad here for his birthday. Pleased to say, it is still as great as I remembered! Great food, attentive staff, what could be better? ”

“ I recently checked out Don Ricardo’s for the first time, and I was a bit skeptical given its location in a mostly suburban area. However, it turned out to be a great find. The vibe inside was really nice, with old Spanish decor and solid Mexican music. The bar was really inviting and had plenty of TV’s and space. The prices were a bit high, but the food was solid. I loved the cheese enchilada, though the ground beef taco tasted a bit like del taco . The rice and beans were delicious. My sister ordered the shrimp à la Diabla, which was pretty spicy and came with tasty cilantro rice. They also had complimentary salsa, chips, and a good bean dip. Overall, I’d come back to Don! ”

“ Taco Tuesday is our favorite time to go. Not only because the street tacos are great, but their Margaritas are out of this world. Their servers are friendly and very accommodating. Come by yourself or bring your friends & family. Try the carnitas! ”

“ Ordered to go for lunch. The food has a great flavor. I do wish they had a special salad dressing other than just the norms. We then went back for dinner and it was delicious. I had the number 11 and we also had Don Ricardo’s burrito. Both were absolutely amazing so much food. I had to save it till the next day and even reheating it the next day the food tasted very very good I would absolutely be going back and would recommend ”

“ Food is BOMB fresh chips/salsa, the Beria tacos are flavorful, the signature burrito goes crazy Highly recommend. We need this place to have higher reviews ”
